GENERAL HOSPITAL Actor Christopher Pennock Dead at 76
Veteran actor of stage and screen, Christopher Pennock, has died at the age of 76. He is best known to soap fans as Mitch Williams on GENERAL HOSPITAL, and multiple roles on supernatural soap DARK SHADOWS. He passed away on Feb. 12 after days of hospitalized care.
Pennock appeared in numerous productions on and off-Broadway including The Philadelphia Story, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Rose Tattoo, and Royal Hunt of the Sun. He could also be seen guest-starring in numerous primetime series such as CANNON, THE LOVE BOAT, CAGNEY & LACEY, THE A-TEAM, DYNASTY, and MELROSE PLACE.
During the last two years of DARK SHADOWS’ run, the actor played multiple roles across multiple timelines including Gabriel Collins, Jeb Hawkes, Cyrus Longworth, and Sebastian Shaw. His daytime credits also include playing Joe Taylor on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, Steven Petrie on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and Justin Marler on GUIDING LIGHT.
From 1979-1980, Pennock starred on GH as Mitch Williams, a Port Charles D.A. who was part of a love triangle with Susan Moore and Tracy Quartermaine. Although he continued to see Susan on the side, Mitch married Tracy for the money. His wife went along when his political ambitions took him to Albany, but returned later, having divorced him.
