General Hospital Is Preempted Today

Unfortunately, as the hearings into the attack on the Capitol Building continue, so does the news coverage and thus the interruptions to regular daytime programming. And the latest hearing has preempted GENERAL HOSPITAL on July 12.

Thankfully, as with the previous recent preemptions for the hearings, this is a national preemption, which means that Tuesday’s episode of GH will simply air on Wednesday. There is no reason to go looking for it this evening on ABC.com or Hulu because it won’t be there since it didn’t actually air.

Soap fans should be used to their favorite shows being interrupted and preempted for news, but that still doesn’t make it any easier when it does happen. But at least those living in the areas where GH wasn’t on don’t have to worry about staying caught up on all the drama by seeking out the episode online. However, if GH does air in your particular time zone, don’t be confused if you get a blast from the past. ABC always airs an encore episode to fill the time slot just in case.

So make sure you tune in on Wednesday, July 13, to watch the drama pick up right where it left off on Monday. And with Nina about to make Carly an offer she probably shouldn’t refuse and Trina’s trial about to get underway, you won’t want to miss a single moment! (Which is why you should also make sure to double-check your DVR if that’s how you record GH because preemptions play havoc with scheduled recordings!)
