GENERAL HOSPITAL Nurses Ball 2023: The Performances

The annual GENERAL HOSPITAL Nurses Ball is always chock-full of drama and excitement backstage and in the audience, but one of the main reasons why fans enjoy the fundraising gala is because they get a chance to see their favorite stars show off some of their other talents.

While the cast of GH are all talented actors, many of them are also gifted musicians, singers, and dancers, something the Nurses Ball allows them to showcase on the soap every year. And this Nurses Ball was no different! So if you missed any of the performances, or just want to rewatch your favorites, we thought we’d collect them all right here for your viewing pleasure!

With Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) co-hosting this year’s Nurses Ball with Maxie (Kirsten Storms) in Lucy’s absence, she did not join the other nurses in the traditional opening number. Although Doctor TJ (Tajh Bellow) filled in nicely! Also performing this fun rendition of Bill Withers’ classic “Lovely Day” were Felix (Marc Anthony Samuel), Amy (Risa Dorken), and Deanna (Dioni Michelle Collins). And if you need to brighten up your own day, this song will do it!

After Liz paid tribute to their late friend Epiphany (Sonya Eddy) and dedicated this year’s Nurses Ball to her, Bobbie announced the next act, which was her granddaughter, Josslyn (Eden McCoy), and her friend, Trina (Tabyana Ali). Along with a group of backup dancers, the BFFs delivered a smashing performance of “The Middle” by Zedd, Maren Morris, and Grey.

Unable to attend this year’s Nurses Ball because they were in hiding from Victor Cassadine, Valentin surprised Anna with a song he’d written for her titled “If You Believe in Love.” Sadly, James Patrick Stuart’s lovely performance was not uploaded to social media by ABC so we can’t include it here.

Deanna took to the stage to introduce a special guest performance by lawyer-turned-R&B singer Danielle Ponder, who performed her hit single “Someone Like You” from her 2022 album Some of Us Are Brave

Next up, Finn took the mic to introduce his brother, Chase, singing with his musical partner, Blaze. Unfortunately, ABC also didn’t upload their performance of Bora York’s “Arrest Me” to social media, so we can’t include it here. But if you thought the guitar player on stage with them looked familiar, that’s because it’s talented musician Kate Grahn, daughter of GH star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis)!

Following a magic act that led to Obrecht’s actual disappearance when she was abducted by Victor’s henchmen, Maxie took to the stage to introduce the return of everyone’s favorite Port Charles male striptease act, the Magic Wands! Joining Milo (Drew Cheetwood) on stage to raise temperatures were TJ, Dex (Evan Hofer), Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), and Yuri (Cyrus Hobbi). Watch the guys take it all off to “Devil in Disguise” as many times as you like right here!

The 2023 Nurses Ball closed with a lovely tribute to Bobbie’s 45 years working at the hospital that included numerous classic clips, followed by another tribute to the woman who had spearheaded all the other balls, the late Lucy Coe. Of course, Lucy couldn’t resist running out on stage to reveal that she was really still alive… it’s just a shame she tripped doing it and fell through the background photo of her and onto the stage in front of a stunned crowd!

Can’t wait to see what GH has in store for next’s year’s Nurses Ball!
