GENERAL HOSPITAL Preempted on February 10
Once again, GENERAL HOSPITAL has been preempted for news coverage of the presidential impeachment trial so it didn’t air at all on February 10. “We are continuing to monitor the ongoing breaking news coverage,” the soap tweeted, “and have decided to air today’s episode of GH (originally scheduled to air yesterday) tomorrow.”
National news coverage of the trial began when it did on Feb. 9, and ABC also preempted GH on Tuesday as well. So fans don’t have to worry that they’ve missed any of the action or have to catch up online. The last new episode of the soap was broadcast on Feb. 8, and they’ll pick up right with the very next episode which will be broadcast as soon as the daytime schedule returns to normal. (Which may mean the episode originally slated to air on Tuesday featuring the beginning of Sonny’s funeral will still not air tomorrow as ABC plans.)
At this time, there is no way of knowing just how long the trial will go on and continue to disrupt the regularly-scheduled daytime programming. But keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com as we keep you updated on all the preemptions and schedule changes. We don’t want anyone to miss a single episode of their favorite shows! And hopefully, fans can get back to enjoying the fictional drama on TV again very soon.
