GH Spoilers 1/5/23: Does Esme Really Have Amnesia?

Port Charles reels from an unforgettable New Year’s Eve in these GENERAL HOSPITAL spoilers! Portia and Curtis celebrate, Felicia has bad news for Cody, Obrecht questions Austin, Nina has news for Brad and Maxie, Martin makes an accusation, Kevin shares his suspicions, Ryan pressures Heather, and Esme recognizes someone!

Sitting together in the coffee shop, Portia tells Curtis: “It was a major accomplishment.” But what are the pair celebrating? Something to do with their upcoming Valentine’s Day wedding?

Felicia arrives at the Quartermaine stables to tell Cody the heartbreaking news of Britt’s death. “We’ll never know what,” she admits. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Obrecht asks Austin about her daughter’s decision to not leave Port Charles after all. “What changed her mind?” she inquires. And Nina informs Brad and Maxie: “I know something that you two don’t.”

In the hospital corridor, Martin sees someone and immediately makes an accusation. “It was you, wasn’t it?” he demands to know.

Kevin isn’t convinced that Esme’s amnesia is legit, and heads to the police station to ask Dante for his input. “About Esme’s memory,” he begins. But why would she fake memory loss when revealing that she’d been held prisoner in Wyndemere would help clear her name in the Hook killings?

News of Esme’s return and subsequent arrest has reached Spring Ridge, where Ryan urges Heather to do whatever it takes to keep their daughter from going to prison. “Confess,” he insists. “So our daughter can go free.”

And in the hospital, Esme doesn’t remember her name, her life, or getting pregnant, but when she has a visitor, she seems to recognize their face. “I know who you are,” she tells them. Could this all be an act or is her memory loss for real?
