GH’s Tabyana Ali Shares an Important Message With Her Fans
Social media is a great place for soap fans to interact with their favorite stars. However, sometimes the anonymity of a keyboard can cause some of these “fans” to post hurtful and nasty things. So GENERAL HOSPITAL newcomer Tabyana Ali (Trina) took to Twitter to urge her supporters to be nice to the haters.
“I love my fans so much!” Ali declared. “Each and every single one of you are so amazing! But I ask if you see any rude comments towards me or Trina and you feel like replying, do it with kindness. With all that is going on in the world, we need more kindness.
“You can’t kill fire with more fire,” the actress continued. “I know it can be frustrating or annoying, even upsetting… but like Ms. Michelle Obama said, ‘When they go low, we go high.’ Love y’all.”
The role of Trina Robinson was originally played by Tiana Le for a handful of episodes back in 2017 and 2018 but when the character became a bigger part of the canvas, Syndey Mikayla took over in February 2019. Then, when she decided to leave the soap to focus on her education, GH recast the role of Trina again with Ali in March 2022.
Ali has garnered a legion of loyal fans in that short period of time, and some replied to her on Twitter to promise that they’d be nicer when dealing with her online haters. And she even got support from GH castmate Lydia Look (Selina), who declared: “Love! You’re amazing. Inside and out.” Heck, even Mikayla responded to Ali’s post with a double heart emoji to share the love for her replacement!
There’s enough negativity in the world, so there’s no reason to add to it. And while ignoring the haters won’t make them go away, at least you’re not adding fuel to the fire. Ali is not only a talented actress, but she’s a young woman with a good head on her shoulders. Not to mention a big heart. As if we couldn’t love her more!
