James Patrick Stuart Stars in a New Disney Series!

Tags:

Back in May, GENERAL HOSPITAL star James Patrick Stuart (Valentin) filmed a pilot for Disney, and now Deadline is reporting that Disney Branded Television has given a full series order for the comedy series MEET THE MAYHEMS!

The live-action comedy series created by Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore revolves around a family of supervillains who recently ran afoul of the League of Villains and must try to hide by acting normal in a small Texas town. At the center of the action is teenaged Havoc, who now goes by the name of Amy as she tries to hide her superpowers and suppress her villainous nature. Stuart is playing the role of Kraniac, who takes the civilian name of Vic, although there’s no indication yet what his superpowers might be!

“Chris and Bryan, along with this terrific cast, are fast at work to deliver a fun and entertaining ‘fish-out-of-water’ tale about an extraordinary family living an ordinary life,” said Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television. “While they entertain, the stories also incorporate themes of self-confidence, personal responsibility, teamwork, justice, and empathy.”

Stuart first joined the cast of GH back in July 2016 and has been playing the deliciously nefarious Valentin Cassadine for years, so we already know he’s good at playing both villainous and likable… sometimes at the same time! Back when the actor first announced he was filming the pilot in the spring, he assured his fans he wasn’t leaving the soap. “We film 15 minutes from the GH stage,” he tweeted, “so should the show get picked up for series — and while it would create scheduling headaches for some very cool people — I have no plans to hang up Valentin’s dancing shoes any time soon.”

Given that Disney is the parent company of both Disney Branded Television and ABC, we’re sure that both GH and MEET THE MAYHEMS will be able to arrange a schedule that allows Stuart to demonstrate his talents on both series. The Disney series is set to premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+ in the summer of 2022, so keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for more updates!
