Jeffrey Vincent Parise Shares His Exciting New Role!
Get ready to see GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Jeffrey Vincent Parise (ex-Carlos) in a whole new light! The actor is thrilled to be a part of the new series HIGH DESERT, now streaming on Apple TV+! “To say this experience was a highlight in my career would be an understatement,” he enthused on Instagram. “I got to work with some of the people who I’ve admired for years on a project that I would watch on purpose!”
HIGH DESERT is a new comedy series that stars Patricia Arquette as Peggy, an addict who lives in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, CA. Following the death of her mother, she decides to make a fresh start and become a private investigator. The cast also includes Matt Dillon, Rupert Friend, Brad Garrett, and Bernadette Peters. Parise plays the role of Roger, though he didn’t reveal any details about his character.
“Not a month before getting cast, I had a conversation about what it must be like to work with Patricia Arquette!,” Parise confided. “I got to find out and it was everything and more! As a young actor until now I’ve always admired the work of Matt Dillon. I can tell you he is just as cool of a human being as he is an actor and artist!”
The GH alum was also excited to work with director Jay Roach, who he knew from his work on the Austin Powers movies, Meet the Parents, and more. “Being a fan of all of Jay Roach’s films, to be directed by him truly was a dream,” Parise declared. “His kindness, generosity, and creativity are off the charts!
“And the scripts!” he continued. “Created and written brilliantly by Jennifer Hoppe-House, Nancy Fichman, and Katie Ford! Produced by the legendary Ben Stiller! And this cast! Not a weak link in the bunch! Including and especially one of my best friends in the world, Carmine Giovinazzo, who delivers a hysterically incredible performance in the later episodes! So grateful for this one.”
Parise earned a legion of loyal soap fans when he joined the cast of GH in 2013 to play Carlos Rivera. After the character was killed off in 2016, the actor returned for a brief stint as his twin brother, Joe. Those fans have followed him to primetime series like SUPERNATURAL and THE DETOUR as well as feature films like The Outer Wild and The Love Witch (plus a brief run as the villainous Simon Black on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!).
