Johnny Wactor Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

The Hook of Port Charles has made their first kill! On the September 20 episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL, Johnny Wactor wrapped his run as Brando Corbin as the mechanic’s wife, Sasha, was told by Portia that he had died.

It seemed like the Corbins would be given another chance once Brando woke up from surgery after he’d been stabbed by the mysterious figure wielding a fishing hook. For a few blessed moments, Brando and Sasha spoke about their future together. But then he coughed up blood and suddenly began seizing, leaving Sasha helplessly watching from the hospital room’s window as Portia and her team furiously tried to save him. Unfortunately, Brando’s heart failed, leaving Sasha a widow.

Although Wactor hasn’t made an official post to say goodbye on his social media channels, he did address his exit in a pair of Instagram stories made in reply to two of his GH co-stars. First up was an Insta Story shared by Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina), who posted a behind-the-scenes shot of her and Wactor taken on the set after the stabbing scene. “Sad day for Brando,” Ainsworth wrote in the text accompanying the photo, “but honestly had fun filming a rain scene and working with Johnny.” Reposting Ainsworth’s Story, Wactor added his own line of text to the photo, noting that it was “bittersweet.”

The second Insta Story Wactor shared was a repost from David Lautman, who plays sleazy tabloid reporter Smoltz. Sharing a video clip of Sasha watching Brando flatline, Lautman’s typed text read, “RIP. Brando Corbin could not have been played by a better actor. Love ya, Johnny.” Again adding a message of his own in his repost, Wactor replied, “Thank you, brother. Enjoyed working with you. And may Smoltz live on to wreak more havoc!”

Wactor’s latest posts are certainly a contrast to his Twitter reply to a fan made just last week, in which the actor proclaimed that “they’ll have to drag me off GH!”

The handsome actor made his GH debut in January 2020 as the son of Sonny’s cousin, Gladys. While the role marked Wactor’s daytime debut, he has an extensive resume that includes primetime appearances on shows like CRIMINAL MINDS, ARMY WIVES, and THE OA, a national TV commercial for Gardasil, and modeling in print campaigns and runway fashion shows.

Since Brando’s surgery to repair the damage caused by The Hook was successful and Portia and T.J. both think that there was something else at play that led to his death, we’re sure that the impact of his death is far from over when it comes to this serial killer storyline!
