Josh Swickard Stars in a “Magic” Christmas Movie!
For the third year in a row, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Josh Swickard (Chase) has doubled up on his soap gig with a starring role in a holiday movie! The actor headlined the Netflix films A California Christmas in 2020 and A California Christmas: City Lights in 2021 opposite his wife, Lauren Swickard, and now he takes a starring turn with Jessika Van in A Hollywood Christmas, streaming exclusively on HBO Max starting on December 1!
A love letter to Christmas movies, A Hollywood Christmas follows Van’s Jessica, a successful Christmas movie director, who begins living her own real-life Christmas movie when Swickard’s character, a handsome television executive named Christopher, shows up on the set. Sent by the network to decide if producing Christmas movies are worth the expense, Christopher’s presence on the set threatens to halt production on Jessica’s latest film. With Christopher looking over her shoulder on behalf of the network, Jessica now has to juggle all of the classic tropes — actors on the set falling in and out of love, a wayward elf dog, and her own growing romantic feelings for her workplace nemesis — in order to get to happily ever after for her movie and her life. Is there enough Christmas magic to pull it off… in Hollywood… in July?
In case you haven’t picked up on the irony, Swickard is an actor who makes and stars in Christmas movies starring in a Christmas movie about making a Christmas movie! “Is there enough holiday magic to pull off saving Christmas in Hollywood?” the GH star posted on Instagram along with the trailer for the charming romantic film. “A Hollywood Christmas is streaming December 1, exclusively on HBO Max.”
Produced in conjunction with ESX Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures, A Hollywood Christmas was filmed back in February and March on the famous Warner Bros. backlot. Check out the adorable trailer for A Hollywood Christmas below and then watch the movie starting Dec. 1!
