Kate Mansi Opens up About That Powerful Episode of GH
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when viewers watched the Aug 5 episode of General Hospital and Kristina regained consciousness after her accident to learn that she had lost the baby she was carrying for Molly and TJ. And filming those scenes was just as emotional for the actors involved.
“I want to congratulate Kristen Vaganos (Molly) on her incredible work today,” Kate Mansi (Kristina) declared on Twitter/X. “I watched the air show back twice to see her eat the [crap] out of those scenes with Sonny and break my heart in the sister scenes.”
That day of shooting made quite the impression on Mansi as she added: “Sometimes it’s hard to be so close in real life and not start cracking up when heavy scenes come your way together. I’ll never forget this day. Kristen and I barely spoke. We just held hands from dressing room to stage and back again. Love you, SisKris.”
Touched by the heartfelt praise for her performances during the powerful episode, Vaganos responded: “Couldn’t do it without you, sis.”
Maurice Benard (Sonny) also praised the episode and everyone involved in crafting it on Instagram. “There was a lot of discussion about yesterday’s show,” he wrote. “First, let me say I watched it and everybody at GH should be very, very proud. Producing, directing, writing, acting… sometimes we take things for granted. I know everybody works really hard. Yesterday’s show reminds me why we work hard. And I can tell you, I know because I remember it vividly. There’s a lot more to come.”
Don’t be surprised if this episode helps the GH cast and crew earn a whole lot of Daytime Emmy Award nominations next year!
