Kathleen Gati Teases What’s Next for Obrecht on GENERAL HOSPITAL

Liesl Obrecht has gotten away with so many crimes on GENERAL HOSPITAL it’s ironic that she’s finally being punished for one she didn’t actually commit! In the April 13 episode, Robert informed Obrecht that she was being transferred to The Hague where she would stand trial, and actress Kathleen Gati took to Twitter to live chat with fans as her alter ego met her unfortunate fate. “Life for Dr. Obrecht is, as she knows it, over,” she declared. “Everyone she has ever loved and cared about is now against her. She is lost. Empty.”

As Obrecht was shipped off to The Hague, fans on Twitter worried that this would be the last we’d see of her. “I honestly don’t know anything about Dr. Obrecht’s future,” Gati admitted. “Or mine, for that matter!” She also added the hashtag “#LoveSurprises” so it seems she’s content not to know what the writers and producers of GH have in store for her character.

Although GH has currently suspended production during the COVID-19 pandemic, when everyone gets back to work, it’s likely that Gati will be one of them as there is still plenty of story to tell with the devious doc. Even though Franco, Maxie, and Nina have all turned against her, Robert believes that Peter has framed her and has promised to bring him to justice. Secrets on soaps always come to light eventually, so it’s just a matter of time before Peter’s crimes catch up with him. And when that day comes, hoo boy, is he in trouble! “I believe Liesl will want to take revenge against several people!” Gati previewed.

At the end of the Twitter chat, Gati signed off by thanking everyone for tweeting with her. “Stay safe and well and know that we all at GH love and appreciate you guys!” she expressed. Stay tuned to see when Obrecht returns for revenge and for more GH news, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
