Kelly Thiebaud Reveals a New Direction for Her Career
When Kelly Thiebaud announced she was leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL where she has played Dr. Britt Westbourne on and off since 2012, it was so that she could spend more time with her European beau and also explore new career opportunities outside of soaps. And it turns out that in addition to acting, the talented performer would also like to try hosting!
“This year, along with booking more work on TV shows and film,” Thiebaud revealed on Instagram, “I’m hoping to expand into hosting my own travel, cooking, or game show! This is part of a demo reel I put together. I hope you like it!”
In the short clip, Thiebaud walks down a street in Los Angeles as she introduces herself and reveals that she’s been living in the city for 22 years. “I moved here from a small town in Texas at the ripe age of 17,” she reveals, quickly joking: “What was I thinking?” She then goes on to say that even though she’s lived in L.A. for two decades, there’s still so much to discover.
“We all know L.A. to be a melting pot of food, entertainment, and culture,” Thiebaud declares. “We have the Hollywood sign, the Walk of Fame, Melrose Avenue, Rodeo Drive, hot spot nightclubs… But I want to show you something a little different. The local side of this wonderful city.”
Unfortunately, the one-minute video clip cuts out at that point, so we don’t get to enjoy whatever it was that Thiebaud wanted to show us. But if you’re anything like us, watching the clip, you were just as eager to follow her all over L.A.!
Thiebaud has displayed her prodigious acting talent in shows like CASTLE, CRIMINAL MINDS, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, and STATION 19 as well as in movies like Hostel: Part III, Love at First Glance, The Sinister Surrogate, and A Mother on the Edge. She even took home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2022 for her work on GH.
And judging from just that little taste of her abilities in the clip above, Thiebaud is just as talented at hosting as she is at acting!
