Santa Barbara fans are going to love this new General Hospital casting news! The soap has cast Lane Davies in a brand new role that will once again reunite him with his former SB co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis)! “It never gets old,” Grahn declared on Instagram. “We do…. but it doesn’t. Lookin’ forward to another romp.”

TV Insider is reporting that Davies will be playing the role of Fergus Byrne, an attorney with a familiar last name. Yes, he’s the older brother of Neil Byrne, the psychiatrist who overdosed in Alexis’ bed! Viewers can look for Davies to debut as Fergus the week of May 22.

Davies made his daytime debut as Evan Whyland on Days of Our Lives, but it was his role of the sarcastic Mason Capwell on Santa Barbara that brought him soap stardom. It also first paired him with Grahn, who was playing attorney Julia Wainwright, and the two became a popular supercouple on the NBC sudser.

Longtime GH fans might also recall Davies from his earlier visit to Port Charles. He played the role of Dr. Cameron Lewis from 2002 until the character was killed off in 2004. The actor also filled in for Ronn Moss as Ridge on The Bold & the Beautiful and took over the role of MacKenzie Johnson on the streaming soap The Bay.

How will Fergus impact Alexis’ attempt to regain her license to practice law? You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!
