Laura Wright Was “So Sick” While Shooting These GENERAL HOSPITAL Episodes

Tags:

Sometimes actors are able to call in sick and other times they aren’t. Laura Wright has revealed that she was actually quite ill while playing Carly in the episodes of GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are watching at the end of March! “The GH shows that are airing right now, I was so sick,” the actress tweeted. “I had missed three days of work (that has never happened). Every scene I was just trying not to cough. I would have a cough drop in my mouth up until the scene started.”

And if you didn’t notice that Wright looked under the weather as Carly confronted Nelle at the Crimson offices or comforting Michael at the hospital as she promised to take care of Nelle, then that’s a testament to not only her acting skills but her fortitude! And she’s done this before — GH fans will recall that last year, while filming Sonny and Carly’s wedding, Wright walked down the aisle with a broken foot!

Currently, GH is on hiatus, having suspended production during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic to keep the cast and crew safe. And Wright is clearly feeling much better now (the smiling Instagram photo at the top of this story is from March 27). “Those shows were shot at the end of January,” she explained. “I’m all better. I was just watching and remembering how crazy it was. How we all held our breath hoping I’d get through a scene!”
