Lilly Melgar Mourns the Death of Ex-Husband Robert Monterrosa
Please join us in sending love to GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Lilly Melgar (ex-Lily), who is mourning the death of her ex-husband, Robert Monterrosa. “I am writing this before actually being ready to,” she admitted on Instagram, “as so many are reaching out. I thank you all for the love and support. I am still processing such a tragic loss. So please, bear with me.”
The actress, who has also played Claudia on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and Janice on THE BAY, shared some photos of their time together including their beautiful wedding. “I post some memories throughout our years together,” Melgar wrote, “our wedding being one of the happiest most perfect days of my life… in memory of the man that was my husband, Sofia’s father, a friend for decades, my family. A man who never truly accepted his brilliance. He was so incredibly gifted. And now… he’s gone. My only consolation is that his soul is free and in peace. Even though we got divorced in June of 2019 (for those who didn’t know), this is an unbearable loss and the pain of acceptance is downright crippling. RIP, Robert Monterrosa. May your soul fly free.”
Melgar and Monterrosa were married in February of 2013 and have one daughter together, 15-year-old Sofia. Our thoughts go out to them and all of Monterrosa’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
