Look for GH’s Michael Blake Kruse in ‘Wakanda Forever!’
Soap fans love when their favorite daytime stars show up in other television shows or movies, and they can look forward to seeing GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Michael Blake Kruse (Rory) in the new Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Unfortunately, while he was cast as Henderson in the blockbuster superhero flick, viewers will have to look very closely to spot him in his role.
“After two trips to Georgia, working with both the first and second unit, as fate would have it, essentially all of my scenes were cut from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” the actor admitted on Instagram, sharing some behind-the-scenes photos of his experience. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed — but I get it.
“Nonetheless, it was an absolute privilege to have been directed by Ryan Coogler and it was very special to have a small part in honoring the great Chadwick Boseman,” Kruse continued. “By complete surprise, I even got to work with dear friend and stunt [coordinator] extraordinaire, Kurt Lott.”
Kruse became a quick fan-favorite when he debuted as officer Rory Cabrera on GH in March 2022, and the talented performer recently appeared in an episode of CHICAGO P.D. While he didn’t reveal anything about his character of Henderson in Wakanda Forever (spoilers!), one of his backstage pics showed that the working title for the Marvel movie to keep things hush hush was Summer Break!
Wakanda Forever is the sequel to 2018’s Black Panther, and follows the characters as they deal with not only the death of King T’Challa (portrayer Boseman passed away from colon cancer in 2020) but also threats from outside Wakanda, including an ancient civilization that lives underwater. And Kruse hopes that everyone enjoys the movie, even if they don’t spot him on screen.
“Ultimately, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a beautifully shot film consisting of many important themes and Chadwick’s essence is carried throughout it all. The entire experience was a blessing, and I remain grateful.”
