Maurice Benard's Son Joshua Returns to General Hospital!

A very familiar face is headed back to Port Charles! Maurice Benard (Sonny) recently teased that his son, Joshua Benard, was returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL! While tweeting a clip of the young man playing guitar and singing the Elvis Presley classic “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Benard wrote: “A little birdie told me Joshua Benard is going to be on GH 16th of March.”

Joshua has already appeared on GH before, in the special “What If” episode that aired on Nov. 12, 2018, and looked back at Sonny’s life if he had not chosen to become a mob boss. In that show, the young actor was cast as a young Sonny Corinthos. Joshua also made another television appearance playing a teenager in an October 2021 episode of STATION 19.

Unfortunately, Benard didn’t share any information as to exactly what kind of role his son would be playing on the soap this time around. With Cameron, Trina, and Josslyn all now attending Port Charles University, Joshua could very well appear in scenes with them as another college student. Or Sonny could have another flashback to his younger years, giving Joshua a second opportunity to play his own father.
