General Hospital's Message About the Preemptions

Soap fans have been frustrated by the ongoing preemptions due to news coverage of the presidential impeachment trial, but GENERAL HOSPITAL shared an update with fans courtesy of a video message from Michael Easton (Finn), Finola Hughes (Anna) and Jophielle Love (Violet). “Hey guys!” the little girl begins. Easton steps in to announce, “We just got done filming an upcoming episode of GH.” Then Hughes adds, “We thought it was the perfect time to thank you for watching.”

After that, Easton addresses the proverbial elephant in the room. “Make sure you follow all our social channels to get updates on the return of new episodes.” Then they assure fans they’ll see them then, and sign off with big, optimistic smiles.

Then the soap shared a very special video showing exactly why GH has been beloved by fans for over 50 years and is so missed whenever it isn’t on. In the montage are numerous clips showcasing the families of Port Charles and how their love for each other has brought them through crisis after crisis. “The miracles that I have seen here far outweigh the losses,” Bobbie tells Brad and Carly, “We can’t give in to the fear. We have to lean in… to hope.” And as Sonny declares at the end, “God bless General Hospital.”

So lean into the hope that GH will be back on the air very soon and we can pick up right where we left off.
