Michael Blake Kruse Is Excited to Be GENERAL HOSPITAL’s New Hot Cop!
Trina wasn’t the only one who took notice of the cute new police officer in the March 30 episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL! Fans were also struck by the handsome Officer Rory Cabrera, played by daytime newcomer Michael Blake Kruse! “Officer Cabrera reporting for duty, sir,” the actor joked on Instagram. “I mean, ma’am. I mean, Commissioner Ashford.”
Kruse had already been happily interacting with viewers on social media in the days leading up to his debut episode. “I hope you’re ready for an intensely passionate fan base!” warned the hosts of a GH podcast. To which the actor replied: “I’m here for all of it!”
When a fan noted that GH casting director Mark Teschner “scored again” as he welcomed Kruse aboard, the actor replied. “Mark is exceptional on all fronts. Thank you!”
Kruse also has a terrific sense of humor as when Avery Pohl (Esme) responded to the news of his casting on the soap by tweeting: “Welcome! So exciting!” He quickly responded: “I appreciate you, Avery! Also, I’ve been warned about you.”
The day before his first episode, Kruse joked to his fans: “A handful of people are asking me to arrest them at random. The PCPD does not operate in that fashion.” However, when a fan suggested that it kind of does work that way, he replied, “My apologies. Revisiting handbook.”
Although Kruse didn’t do much in his initial episode aside from offering Trina a can of soda and a reassuring smile while she sat in the police station interrogation room, the actor is said to be on contract so viewers can look forward to seeing much more of him in the future. Although as one fan warned: “Don’t date Maxie, you’ll be dead in a week.”
Given how Maxie’s husband, Detective Nathan West, met a tragic fate, that’s probably good advice to keep in mind. Still, Kruse wasn’t bothered, joking, “But maybe it’s worth it?”
