For GENERAL HOSPITAL fans, the constant preemptions due to the presidential impeachment trial have been extra frustrating because while other soaps have aired occasional episodes, fans haven’t been able to visit Port Charles since Jan. 20. But finally, some good news as ABC has announced that GH will resume airing original episodes beginning today, Wednesday, Jan. 29!
This means that fans will be able to tune in and pick up right where they left off at the Jan. 20 cliffhanger and don’t have to worry about missing anything. However, it’s important to note that episodes will only be airing on the West Coast and other areas not impacted by the ABC News coverage of the trial. Which means that if you live in one of the areas where GH was preempted for news, you’ll have to check your local cable listings to see if your ABC affiliate is airing it in the overnight hours or else watch the new episodes on the GH page at ABC.com or the ABC app (beginning at 8 p.m. ET) and the following day on demand or on Hulu.
So keep checking back for further updates as the preemptions continue and hopefully the soaps can resume their regular schedules very soon so everyone can return to watching GH the way they’re used to. And for more GH news, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
