Parry Shen’s New Role Came With the Coolest Souvenir!

Even when not playing Brad Cooper on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Parry Shen is always keeping busy with other projects. and one he worked on earlier this year left him with quite the amazing souvenir! “Another awesome job this summer was on the Freeform pilot, AZNBBGRL,” the actor shared on Instagram. “Is this not the coolest and most badass crew jacket/set gift ever?”

In the collage of photos in his post, Shen showed off the detailed white tiger and orchid branches on the left shoulder and sleeve and the blue dragon on the right sleeve. Plus, the shot of the back reveals the amazing red bird and turtle. The black turtle, white tiger, red bird, and blue dragon are the Four Symbols of Chinese mythology, each representing one of the four cardinal directions.

“I am waiting for the weather to cool down so I can wear it,” Shen declared. “Like… All. The. Freakin’. Time.”

“I have one similar,” remarked his GH castmate, Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix). “We can walk down the street and call ourselves the twins.” Shen immediately replied: “We should do that even without the jackets!”

AZNBBGRL is a coming-of-age series from Freeform and 20th Television starring Cathy Bui, Lynn Kim Do, and Jazelle Villanueva. The show follows three Asian American teens in Orange County’s Little Saigon as they try to break free from generational expectations and find a way out courtesy of a street gang. There are no details as to who Shen is playing, whether it’s a relative of one of the girls, a member of the gang, or someone else entirely.

The hour-long drama is currently in production, so there’s no telling whether Freeform will like it enough to pick the pilot up for a full series order. But keep checking back here at for updates and we’ll let you know when you can watch and see Shen in another exciting new role!
