Perez Hilton to Guest Star on General Hospital!

Gossip columnist Perez Hilton is set to bring his signature brand of snark to General Hospital in the near future! The soap announced on June 11 that the media personality was on the set taping an appearance to air on an upcoming episode.

“Breaking News: A very inquisitive guest swung by Port Charles today,” GH announced on its official Instagram page in a shared post with Hilton. “We can’t wait for you to see what Perez Hilton has in store for General Hospital. Stay tuned!”

The New York-based Hilton had first teased his new daytime gig on June 10, sharing a selfie taken in an airport as an Instagram Story. “On my way to Los Angeles! About to film a soap opera! Wish me luck!” he wrote on the slide.

In a follow-up Story shared after the news of his Port Charles gig, Hilton shared, “Surprise! Such an honor! Acting! On this iconic show.”

While the appearance will be the Hilton’s first time on GH, the pop culture writer has been on a soap opera twice before. In 2016, Hilton — who holds a degree in theater from the well-respected Tisch School of the Arts at New York University — played Reverend Murphy, the officiant at the wedding of Quinn and Eric on The Bold & The Beautiful. While chatting with TV Insider about his appearance, the self-professed soap opera lover revealed that he had worked as an extra on All My Children in 2000, shortly after graduating from acting school.

“I had no lines and can’t remember the situation, though if Susan Lucci had been in the scene I certainly would have remembered that,” he shared. “But I do remember that another extra that day was Jonathan Bennett, who ended up getting cast as a regular on AMC.”

For now, GH hasn’t released any additional information as to Hilton’s storyline so we’re not sure yet which Port Charles scandal his character will be reporting on. Be sure to check back with SoapsInDepth.com for details on this developing story!
