Rรฉal Andrews Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Fans who were excited to see Rรฉal Andrews back as Marcus Taggert were equally as shocked by the March 2 episode and wondered, โIs Taggert really dead on GENERAL HOSPITAL!?โ โRIP Taggert,โ Andrews posted to Instagram. โThanks, everyone, for all your support. I appreciate you all. It was a great run and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. Although I appreciate your support more than you know, I am great. Godโs got me.โ
In his Instagram gallery, he shared some screenshots from the episode as well as a couple of photos of his dog, Diamond, one of which shows her looking at his feature interview in the new ABC issue of Soaps In Depth magazine (still on sale now!) with a bit of a sad face. โItโs Diamond I am worried about,โ he joked. โWhen she heard the news about her Daddy being dead, she went into a depression so pray for her, please.โ
Andrews began playing Taggert back in 1997 and was last seen in the role in 2003. He made a big return to GH in the middle of January 2020, with Taggert having a history with Jordan and being a central figure in the brewing mob war started by Cyrus Renault. Then they also revealed that Trina Robinson is his daughter. So naturally, fans were shocked when after just over a month, Taggert became Cyrusโ latest victim! Many viewers are speculating that this is all a big fake-out so Taggert can go underground and take down Cyrus once and for all, but that remains to be seen.
โIt has been an honor and privilege working with Maurice [Benard, Sonny], Steve [Burton, Jason], Sydney [Mikayla, Trina] , Brianna [Nicole Henry, Jordan], Donnell [Turner, Curtis], and Genie [Francis, Laura],โ Andrews declared. โThank you to Frank [Valentini], the producers, and writers for the opportunity. Thanks to [casting director] Mark Teschner for always believing in me and thanks to all the crew and staff for making my stay an amazing one. God bless.โ
