Sawandi Wilson Cast as Isaiah on General Hospital!

As the mystery surrounding Lucky’s whereabouts continues to unfold next week on General Hospital, look for a new face to be involved in Jonathan Jackson’s return. According to Deadline, the soap has cast Sawandi Wilson in the role of Isaiah!

While GH will be Wilson’s daytime debut, the actor is no stranger to dramas with continuing storylines. The New York native previously played Capt. Leto in the final season of Star Trek: Discovery (which just wrapped this summer on Paramount+) and had a recurring role on the Netflix series The House of Flowers. Wilson will also lead the upcoming feature film El Heredero — about two brothers with financial troubles who discover they could be heirs to a large inheritance — slated for release this November. He also put his breakdancing skills to use in the dance flicks Battle of the Year and Step Up 3D, played Rebel Wilson’s hot doctor in Isn’t It Romantic, and played Marcus on the Amazon series Harlem.

Announcing his GH gig on Instagram, Wilson seemed elated to be joining the soap. “New character unlocked! So excited and grateful to be part of this!! Port Charles Wah Gwan,” he wrote, using the Jamaican phrase that translates to “what’s up.”

Details about Isaiah are being kept under wraps, with Deadline vaguely sharing that the newcomer will have a “connection” to Lucky. Jackson made his first comeback appearance on the Aug. 23 episode — the same one in which a preview teased a person with their arms and legs in handcuffs and chains, leading many viewers to speculate that Lucky is being held prisoner somewhere.

Might Isaiah be working for whoever has been holding Lucky hostage? Or perhaps he will turn out to be a good guy who helps Laura’s son escape and return home to Port Charles? We’d love to see some fresh faces in town… and Deputy Mayor Jordan Ashford could use a new love interest since her fling with Portia’s brother crashed and burned!

Look for Wilson to debut on Monday, Aug. 26.
