Stephen A. Smith Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL
Whenever Sonny needs a little extra help, he calls on Brick. And that means another appearance from ESPN host and commentator Stephen A. Smith as he returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL! He first appeared as Sonny’s tech expert back in the spring of 2016 and has made sporadic appearances in the years that followed.
In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, they are reporting that Smith is scheduled to make another visit to Port Charles as Brick sometime the week of July 25. However, with all the recent preemptions playing havoc with the soap’s schedule, there’s no telling when his episode or episodes will actually air. But Brick will be returning very soon!
In fact, this particular appearance will see Brick interacting with not only Maurice Benard’s Sonny, but also daytime newcomer Evan Hofer’s Dex. Now, whether that interaction will lead Brick to become suspicious of Dex’s true motives or not remains to be seen, but while Dex should probably be careful around Brick, Hofter was delighted to work with Smith!
“We’ve had scenes where we refer to like, Sonny being on the phone with Brick,” Hofer told the magazine. “And then finally, once the [NBA] finals were over, he had the opportunity to come out to L.A. and I got to meet him! I was so excited!
“I played it very cool,” he added. “I got to talk to him a little bit about basketball but I didn’t want to bug him. I tried to leave him be with the sports talk but he was really lovely and he told me he’s been watching the show since he was five years old. I think it’s so cool that he has the opportunity to be on a show that he’s watched his whole life.”
So keep watching GH to see how Brick helps Sonny out this time around!
