There’s a new Jordan on GENERAL HOSPITAL! Actress Tanisha Harper is taking over the role, and Deadline is reporting that she will begin airing sometime in March. “Rules were meant to be broken, because if they weren’t, I wouldn’t have a job!” she shared on Instagram when news of the recast broke. “Looking forward to my new series regular role as police commissioner Jordan Ashford on GH, weekdays on ABC.”
Harper has appeared as Heather in the MYTV telenovela DESIRE, and guested on series like DEAR WHITE PEOPLE, COMING TO HOLLYWOOD, HACKS, and DOLLFACE. She was also a model in the 2009 season of PROJECT RUNWAY and played a model in the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. And GH isn’t Harper’s daytime debut — she played a Spectra model in 2005 and a Jackie M. Model in 2010 on CBS sudser THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL.
The character of Jordan Ashford was introduced to the GH canvas in March 2014 with actress Vinessa Antoine in the role. When she chose to exit the soap in 2018, the role was recast with Brianna Nicole Henry, who chose to depart after three years in September 2021. The role was also temporarily played by Tiffany Daniels for a brief period in January 2021 when Henry was diagnosed with COVID-19.
The last viewers saw of Jordan, she was sent to a medical clinic upstate in Albany, NY, to recover after a near-death experience while on the job. As the character wasn’t killed off, viewers predicted that she would return to Port Charles one day. Especially since there’s still plenty of drama left in her failed marriage to Curtis, who has moved on with his ex, Portia Robinson!
Stay tuned to GH to see what happens when Jordan comes home!
