Vincent Irizarry Would “Love” to Bring David Hayward to GENERAL HOSPITAL (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

Plenty of GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers are holding on to hope that Hayden will come home to take advantage of the current tension between Anna and Finn. But this might also be the perfect opportunity to bring Anna’s ex-husband, ALL MY CHILDREN’s David, to town. And portrayer Vincent Irizarry tells Soaps In Depth that he’s up for the challenge! No stranger to daytime, “I’ve been on six shows now,” marveled the Emmy winner, who got his start as GUIDING LIGHT’s Lujack back in 1983 and wrapped his run as THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Dr. Jordan Armstrong this past fall.

“It was great working on B&B,” he continued. “It was a fantastic cast. You really get a sense — especially doing this for almost 40 years — that daytime is one big repertory company. On every show I’ve been on, there are all these people I’ve worked with in some capacity — whether behind the camera or in front of the camera. It’s great.”

The soap hopper also played THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ David from 2006-’08 and DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Deimos from 2016-’17. But he hasn’t yet walked the prestigious halls of GH. “Of all the shows that are on, that’s the last remaining one” he hasn’t appeared on, said Irizarry. “It would be fantastic to change that! I would love an opportunity to work with Finola Hughes (Anna) again and work with that cast.”

While some of his former AMC co-stars are playing new roles in Port Charles, Irizarry wouldn’t mind picking up David’s stethoscope and bringing it to town. “He has crossover appeal because of Anna,” explained the actor. “Our characters were married, we had a child together, and the child died. That was such a dramatic story, and Finola and I had a great working relationship. So I think it would make sense.”

The brilliant Dr. Hayward was famous for bringing people back from the dead — not to mention dosing everyone with his love drug, Libidozone. As for what madness the doctor might be up to these days, the actor admitted, “I’m curious!” In the meantime, Irizarry revealed he’s keeping busy as a luxury real-estate agent and hitting the audition circuit. “I’m doing well,” he concludes. “I’m doing more real estate at the moment and getting myself out there.”
