Vincent Novak on GENERAL HOSPITAL — Everything You Need to Know

Vincent Novak on GENERAL HOSPITAL isn’t a new character, but he isn’t seen very often, so it’s understandable if viewers might want a little more information about the mobster! The character first appeared back in 2015 for a couple of episodes and was played by Larry Guli then and for another show in 2017. Vincent then returned to the canvas in July 2021, now played by actor Glenn Taranto. 

In August 2015, Vincent Novak appeared at a meeting of the Five Families where Sonny Corinthos claimed there was a traitor in their group. He demanded proof, and Sonny got Serge to confess he’d been working with the Jerome family. The following month, Vincent again attended another meeting with the families where Michael Corinthos took his father’s place because Sonny had been shot. Ava Jerome claimed Carlos shot Sonny. Vincent agreed to Ava’s call for peace and called for an immediate cease-fire. In the summer of 2017, Sonny called a meeting of the Five Families to announce his retirement, and Vincent was naturally suspicious about what he was really up to. 

In January 2021, Brick reported to Jason that the Novaks had begun moving product into Port Charles now that Sonny was presumed dead and out of the picture. When they investigated one of the family’s warehouses, they found the Novaks’ men dead inside.  Then, in the spring, Vincent was at another Five Families meeting representing his clan. As time went on, Vincent continued to take advantage of Sonny’s absence, offering double for Corinthos shipments because he believes the family to be weak now. Jason increased the guards on the Corinthos deliveries to discourage the Novaks.

After Carly Corinthos stepped up to represent the family, the Novaks pressured Jason to get rid of her to take over the business himself. As Jason made plans with Carly, he arranged to have one of the Novak warehouses on the docks blown up. In July, when Vincent ran into Jason and Carly at the Metro Court, he apologized for his nephew, Joey Novak, and was then stunned to learn that they were getting married to present a united front to the Five Families.
