Wally Kurth Thinks Chase and Brook Lynn are GH’s New Ned and Lois!

Tags:

Fans who enjoyed watching Ned play guitar while Chase sang Brook Lynn’s song at Leo’s birthday party on GENERAL HOSPITAL might be interested to know that it was Josh Swickard (Chase) who brought Wally Kurth (Ned) into the scene!

“Josh did such a good job,” Kurth enthused in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. “And he actually suggested that I play the guitar and sing along with him, sing harmony, and Frank [Valentini, GH’s executive producer] loved the idea. I thought it worked out great!”

Longtime fans are well aware of Kurth’s musical chops, having watched him perform on GH back in the days when Ned was going by the name of Eddie Maine to pursue his dreams of a music career. (Not to mention playing in his real-life band, Kurth and Taylor!)

“I really like the idea that they’re doing something with Brook Lynn and Chase that’s [reminiscent of] the Eddie Maine/Lois Cerullo story,” Kurth explained, “where the gal has to talk the guy into being a singer and to go for it and to trust his ability, because that’s kind of what happened with Eddie and Lois. I told Josh and Amanda [Setton, Brook Lynn], ‘Have fun with it!’

“I love Josh,” the actor added. “He’s a good guy and I enjoy working with him. And he’s done such a great job in his Nurses Ball performances, so he’s obviously got the chops to do a musical storyline!”

Of course, Chase has been resisting Brook Lynn’s attempts to get him to change careers from being a cop to being a singer, but given her charms — and her persistence! — how much longer can he hold out? It could be only a matter of time before Chase is cutting an album… perhaps with Ned backing him up again!
