When the role of Brook Lynn was temporarily recast with actress Briana Lane on GENERAL HOSPITAL earlier this year, some fans suspected the character’s injury preventing her from singing was because Lane wasn’t musically inclined. Well, nothing could be farther from the truth! Lane and Darian Zahedi have formed a new musical duo called Cadeaux, and have released their first single, “Bad!” “We hope it makes all your indie falsetto dreams come true!” Lane declared on Instagram.
Lane is one half of the female indie duo Winslow, and Zahedi is in CRX, a solo project from The Strokes’ Nick Valensi. “My buddy Darian and I spent the last year collaborating on a few end-of-summer, deep-grooved jams for your listening pleasure!” sye posted back in August when first announcing the new musical project. Cadeaux is French for “gifts,” and was also the last name of Lane’s great grandfather.
“Bad” features Lane’s beautiful vocals on a song about “someone’s desire to push themselves past what’s comfortable and into the unknown.” You can listen to the song on Spotify, Amazon Music, or Apple Music. Or you can also just check out the stylish music video directed by Brea Grant right here!
Lane made quite an impression on GH fans with her stint as the fill-in Brook Lynn, many of whom wish that the soap could find another role for her to play. But at any rate, you can still enjoy her music, and keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com as we keep you updated on where this talented performer’s career takes her next!
