Watch Josslyn and Trina Mourn Dustin in This GH Deleted Scene

Dustin Phillips was one of the casualties of the Floating Rib explosion on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but unlike Dev, there didn’t seem to be anyone mourning his passing. Lulu was the only one who seemed upset by his death, but then she slipped into a coma! But for GH fans who felt Dustin got a raw deal, it turns out that the late teacher actually did get a mention, but it was unfortunately cut from the Dec. 4 episode!

In the missing scene, Trina and Josslyn are going through Dev’s bedroom at Sonny’s house when they find a book among their late friend’s things. Remembering that it was Dustin who’d assigned their class to read that story in the first place, the girls are in disbelief that their teacher also died in the explosion that killed their friend. “I can’t believe Mr. Phillips is gone too,” Josslyn sadly says while sitting on Dev’s bed. “He really helped me when Oscar died.”

Trina then teases her friend that Mr. Phillips was the one that made Joss keep the journal that she carried around everywhere with her for months. “He didn’t make me,” Joss says with a sad smile. “He said that putting my feelings on paper would help. And he was right. It did.”

Next, both Trina and Josslyn admit that they each had a crush on their handsome English teacher, as did many of their other classmates. “All the sophomore girls had a crush on him,” points out Trina. “And who could blame them?”

Mr. Phillips really had an impact on the lives of his students. And wanting to make sure that their teacher and friend is remembered long after their class is gone, Trina and Josslyn come up with the idea to do something special at the school in his memory. “I just don’t want him to be forgotten,” Josslyn confesses.

While it’s too bad that GH viewers weren’t able to see the scene during the episode’s broadcast, at least ABC managed to share this deleted scene online so fans could see just how much of an impact Dustin had on the life of his students! Check it out right here:
