Watch Robert Palmer Watkins’ New Music Video for “Clean Cut”
Check out the newest music video from GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon)! “Hope y’all dig it,” he exclaimed as “Clean Cut,” the second single from his musical alter ego, Palmer, dropped on Aug. 20, and the corresponding music video was released a week later!
“On my new single, ‘Clean Cut,’ I talk about my multiple sides in this life experience,” Watkins shared on Instagram. “Not only because I’m a Gemini, as I mention in the song, but I have tremendous ups and downs. On social media, I admit I do try to portray the ‘best version’ of me, the clean-cut, highlight reel, and ‘wins’ (mostly for business purposes, but also my ego).
“But to be real with you,” the GH alum continued, “there’s been a lot of hurting, challenges, kinda dark times… and I feel it’s my duty to share my pain as well, because the true gold can be found in honoring and overcoming it. So, in the first pic, you see the ‘clean cut’ Rob. In the second, you see the real me. Scrounging for money, driving Lyft, in between jobs and broke as [heck].”
The music video for “Clean Cut,” directed by Marin Hart, features Watkins as a backroom brawler who runs afoul of a couple of dangerous ladies during the course of the song. You can check it out below, and don’t forget that there’s a video for his first single, “Waiting,” to enjoy as we continue waiting… for the full album!
