Watch Steve Burton “Skate” By With Daughter Brooklyn!

During a recent outing with his 8-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Steve Burton (ex-Jason) decided to kick it old school and share a piece of his own childhood with his little girl. How? By hitting up a local roller-skating rink!

The fan fave shared a video on his Instagram page showing some highlights from his sweet daddy-daughter time with Brooklyn. Set to the tune of Michael Jackson’s popular 1979 tune “Rock With You,” the video showed the roller rink’s fluorescent star-covered carpet in the arcade area, the racks of roller skates available for patrons, the bright lights accenting the wooden floor and walls of the rink, and the shimmery disco ball hanging on the ceiling. For the outing, Burton wore a black tee shirt featuring the MTV logo in bright colors while Brooklyn also donned a black tee that read “Rolling Into 8” in bright colors. (While Brooklyn turned 8 on July 7, it’s not clear from Burton’s post if the video was from her birthday party.)

“Seriously, the last time I roller skated had to be in 1983-84,” the former GH star captioned his video. “Brought back some awesome memories. Like riding a bike! When was the last time you roller skated?”

Best known to daytime audiences for his long run as GH’s Jason, Burton parted ways with the soap in late 2021 when he refused to comply with the COVID vaccine mandate that ABC/Disney television productions have in place. In between his GH stints, Burton appeared on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as Dylan McAvoy. Earlier this month, he reprised the role that launched his daytime career — that of DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Harris Michaels — on the second season of the soap’s spin-off, BEYOND SALEM, currently streaming on Peacock.

Back in May, Burton announced that he and his wife, Sheree, had separated after more than 20 years of marriage, and the actor filed for divorce on July 11. At the time that he announced their split, Burton shared that he and his ex-wife were committed to “co-parenting our three beautiful kids.” And from the smile on Brooklyn’s face in the video with her dad, it looks like he was doing an amazing job of doing exactly that!
