When Esme picked up a prescription at the hospital, fans knew she was up to no good, and now that the medication has been revealed, some are wondering what is tramadol and how is she going to use it on GENERAL HOSPITAL?
Tramadol is no made-up soap opera medication. It is a real-life painkiller used to help relieve moderate to severe pain and works similarly to opioid analgesics. Since it will cause whoever takes it to become dizzy and drowsy, it’s likely that Esme is planning on drugging one or more of the other teens going on the ski trip. And the fact that she was holding the bottle of pills next to a brand new cell phone still in the box would seem to indicate she has plans to take videos or photos of whatever situation she sets up with the drugged individual (or individuals!).
The problem is that tramadol is a very serious drug and can have very serious side effects such as seizures. It can also slow your breathing and lower your heart rate. It is also extremely dangerous to take tramadol while drinking alcohol, which you would expect a bunch of unsupervised teens on a ski trip to be doing. But even if Esme manages to drug her victim without causing dangerous side effects, tramadol is very addictive, so there could be some long-term repercussions for whoever she slips it to.
It’s likely that Esme is planning on drugging Cameron and/or Trina and setting them up in a compromising position to ensure Trina is kept away from Spencer so she can have the Cassadine heir all to herself. Of course, if she’s slipping drugs into drinks, who’s to say they’ll end up in the right hands?
Stay tuned to GH to find out what Esme does with the tramadol and the cell phone and if her evil scheme goes according to plan… or if it backfires right in her face!
