Who Is Isaiah on GH? — Sawandi Wilson Speaks Out!

Fans barely got a chance to meet Isaiah on General Hospital before the poor guy was run down by a car and fell into a coma! But rest assured, the character will be coming to and portrayer Sawandi Wilson has offered a sneak peek at just what viewers can expect from this handsome doctor.

“I would say that Isaiah is a hotshot surgeon who definitely believes he’s the smartest one in the room,” Wilson told Soap Opera Digest, “who has the answers to everything, except the answers to his own past and dealing with himself. He’s got the answers to everything that’s right in front of him but lacks the answers to everything that’s inside of him.”

The actor is also excited to be bringing this fascinating character to Port Charles to join the tapestry he’s been enjoying since he was a kid. “Growing up, my grandfather and my grandmother were huge fans of General Hospital,” Wilson revealed. “I have big memories of wanting to watch cartoons and then getting roped into the story and being like, really invested in the story as a seven-year-old!”

Naturally, when Wilson landed his new gig on GH, his family was the first to receive the good news — after his fiancée, who was with him when he got the call! “My mother, she was the first person I called and she was so happy and proud,” he confided. “She was crying on the phone with me and saying how my father would be so proud because we lost him about a year ago.

“My sister was the second person I called,” Wilson continued, “and she was on the brink of tears and very happy and proud. Both of them work in the medical field; my mother is a registered nurse and my sister is an anesthesiologist. So, no pressure, right?”
