William deVry Says Goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

For weeks since rumors of his exit began flying around, William dVry (Julian) kept fans guessing regarding whether or not he is leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL. But on Nov. 12, the actor shared a selfie of himself next to his truck loaded with stuff on his way out the gate at The Prospect Studios where the soap is taped to share some heartfelt goodbyes. “Much love to [executive producer] Frank Valentini, GH, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Dominic Zamprogna (Dante), Laura Wright (Carly), [director] Phideaux Xavier, Genie Francis (Laura), Kin Shriner (Scott), Haley Pullos (Molly), Eden McCoy (Josslyn), Lexie Ainsworth (Kristina), and everyone for all the love the last seven years,” he tweeted. “Fans made Julexis and Julian. Love forever.”

Fans immediately inundated the popular performer with well-wishes and gratitude for his work in Port Charles over the years and deVry replied to them all with broken heart emojis. He then quickly followed up with some additional twitter love, tagging even more cast members. “My love continues for Kelly Thiebaud (Britt), Kelly Monaco (Sam), James Patrick Stuart (Valentin), Tamara Braun (ex-Kim), Josh Swickard (Chase), Donnell Turner (Curtis), Maura West (Ava), Maurice Benard (Sonny), [ABC head of daytime] Bill Burton, and Steve Burton (Jason)!” he added. “Each one knows my heartfelt thanks.”

Twitter’s character limit meant that deVry had to break his heartfelt farewell into multiple tweets. “I also want to make a massive shout out to [former GH headwriter] Ron Carlivati for bringing Julian Jerome back to life,” he wrote. “We miss you. A large thank you to [ABC programming executive] Nathan Varni for your love and support. The Jeromes were brought to life. As GH actors, we didn’t get to see [ABC exec] Vicki Dummer, Nathan Varni, and Bill Burton very often. But when we did, they were always AAA first class. Thank you for a wonderfully blessed seven years. Wouldn’t change a thing.”

The daytime vet continued to remember more and more people he wanted to thank in follow-up tweets. “Ryan Carnes (Lucas) and Parry Shen (Brad),” deVry tweeted. “Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan) for the amazing road trips. Sean and his team in wardrobe! WaaAllice! Hair and Makeup. We had so many damned laughs. I will miss them. Finola Hughes (Anna) my bestie. Kathleen Gati (Obrecht) and hubs! Kate Hall’s writing. Might as well thank Jason Culp (ex-Julian)!

“Also a big shout out to my babymama Lisa LoCicero (Olivia),” he continued. “A shining light up and down our GH corridor. Cynthia Watros (Nina). My neighbor. Sorry I missed you! Love to Tristan Rogers (Robert)! Big star who treats everyone with respect! Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke), sorry we didn’t get to spend more time on GH together! OMG, Katelyn MacMullen (Willow), I finally found you! That’s a tough tag! You are a bright planet! Wonderful future for you. Mad skills. Getting better every scene. Grateful to have had many scenes with you. Carry on with your grace. Much love, always.”

The thanks and goodbyes will likely continue appearing on Twitter for a bit as deVry keeps adding more friends to the list. During his seven years on GH, he worked with quite a lot of people! After making a splash as the villainous Michael Cambias on ALL MY CHILDREN, deVry went on to play Storm Logan on CBS sudser THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL before joining the cast of GH in 2013 as the new Julian Jerome.

There have been no clues as to how Julian might exit the canvas, but hopefully for fans of deVry, he doesn’t end up six feet under after being caught in the middle of Sonny and Cyrus’ war. Perhaps Julian could just leave town until the heat dies down and make a big return somewhere down the line? Stay tuned to see what happens!
