GH’s William Lipton Shares an Update on His Surgery Recovery!

Tags:

On the mend! Less than a week after GENERAL HOSPITAL star William Lipton (Cameron) underwent a tonsillectomy, the college student happily reports that he is on the road to recovery! After a few days of resting his voice, the teenage GH star was feeling well enough to give his fans an update on how things have been going — and when he might be back to work on the soap!

“Hey, everybody,” a raspy Lipton greeted. “I just wanted to record a quick video to say thank you for all of your kind messages that I’ve been receiving for the rest of my recovery from my surgery. You have no idea how much it means to me.”

A tonsillectomy is typically done as an outpatient procedure, but there are some cases where an overnight hospital stay is necessary. Lipton didn’t divulge whether he had to spend the night in the hospital or not, but it seems that after his operation, he had the typical throat pain that goes along with having your tonsils removed.

“I’m currently on my feet and able to kind of talk just a little bit, which is… oh my gosh, it was an effort to get to this point,” he shared with a smile. “But we are here. And I have to thank you a little bit for your encouragement and for all the love.

“Still a ways to go,” he concluded, “but doing well. Just a little update. Love you all.”

Lipton’s video message was met with an outpouring of support in the comments, with his followers replying that they were glad he was feeling better and telling him to take all the time he needs to rest his voice, so he’ll be back in tip-top shape. After all, they want him to get back to work on GH as soon as possible! When one Joss and Cam fan asked what Lipton’s plans were for resuming filming at the soap, the talented young singer and actor promised, “I’ll be back soon!”
