Alison Sweeney and Lacey Chabert Preview Their New Hallmark Movie!

Hallmark Channel is kicking off 2022 by debuting one of the network’s most highly anticipated movies of the new year: The Wedding Veil film trilogy, starring Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) and Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca, ALL MY CHILDREN). Also starring Hallmark movies staple Autumn Reeser as the third friend in the trio, the series’ first film premieres on Sat., January 8, at 8 p.m. EST.

The crossover movies will follow three college pals — Chabert’s Avery, Sweeney’s Tracy, and Reeser’s Emma — who have since scattered across the country but meet up each year for a girls’ trip. During one of their annual vacations, the ladies discover an enchanted antique wedding veil that will wind up changing each of their lives. A new detailed synopsis from the network says: “The first installment of an enchanting new trilogy starring three of Hallmark’s most beloved leading ladies as longtime college friends who discover a mysterious, antique veil fabled to unite its bearer with her true love. After discovering a long-lost painting, museum curator Avery and successful new board member Peter investigate the artwork’s origins as they plan a charity fundraiser to unveil its restoration.”

“I am in love with this story,” Chabert, who also serves as executive producer on the movie, previewed in a behind-the-scenes video shared by Hallmark. “It’s been a longtime passion project of mine.”

Sweeney had high praise for her fellow daytime alum. “I give Lacey so much credit for putting this whole thing together,” she said. “I think the audience is going to fall in love with these three women.

While the first film has Avery finding love with Peter, the character played by WHEN CALLS THE HEART star Kevin McGarry (hunky Nathan in the network’s popular period drama), it is the strong friendship between the three women that Chabert is most proud of in the films. “I’m just thrilled that I finally get to be in a movie with my Hallmark sister,” she enthused. “The story really sits in the friendships and those three women are soulmates in their own way.”

The second and third films — titled The Wedding Veil Unveiled and The Wedding Veil Legacy — will air in February as part of the Hallmark Channel’s romance-filled “Loveuary” programming. Airing on Sat., February 12, Unveiled will follow Reeser’s Emma as she finds love with the son of a local lace-making family. And then on Sat., February 19, Sweeney wraps up the trilogy’s third installment when Tracy meets restauranter Nick, played by her fellow DAYS alum, Victor Webster (ex-Nicholas).
