Soap Alum Robyn Griggs Is Entering Hospice Care

It is with great sadness that we have to report that daytime alum Robyn Griggs, who was diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer in the fall of 2020, is entering hospice care either today or tomorrow. “She has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational,” read a post shared to her social media accounts. “Please continue to keep Robyn and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”

Griggs made her daytime debut playing Stephanie Hobarton ONE LIFE TO LIVE back in 1991, but the actress is probably best remembered for her 1993-95 run as Maggie Cory on NBC sudser ANOTHER WORLD. She earned a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a Daytime Series for her work on OLTL and while on AW, was up for Outstanding Scene Stealer at the 1994 Soap Opera Digest Awards.

Griggs, who married golf pro Mark Wiley in 2013, was diagnosed with stage four endocervical adeno in fall of 2020, a type of cervical cancer that her doctors said was most likely terminal. She underwent surgery to remove the cancer and during the following year did interviews and made personal appearances to raise awareness by sharing her struggle.

Sadly, in July 2022, Griggs shared an update that tests had found four new tumors and she was once again undergoing treatment. “I told them whatever it takes, I’m in for the fight,” she shared on social media. “I’ll be very sore, nauseous, etc., but who knows, maybe it works and relieves some pain. you never know.”

With Griggs now entering hospice care, please join us in sending love to her and her friends and family during this incredibly difficult time.
