Watch Erika Slezak in the New Movie ‘Guest Artist’
Fans of ONE LIFE TO LIVE who miss seeing Erika Slezak as Viki can enjoy watching the award-winning actress in a brand new role playing Helen in the new movie Guest Artist. The film stars Jeff Daniels, who also wrote the screenplay based on his play about an alcoholic playwright who travels to Michigan to mount a production and encounters a young writer who changes his life. Guest Artist will be available to rent or buy on demand from Redbox beginning on Tuesday, July 21.
“My manager said that one of his clients is Jeff Daniels,” Slezak explained, “that he’d shot a movie called Guest Artist, but he needed a little extra something in the beginning, so he wanted someone to play Helen, his agent. When he asked if I’d be interested, I dropped the phone and said, ‘You bet!’ It was a lovely scene of three or four pages, just with Jeff. He is a very nice man and a very good actor. Timothy Busfield directed it.”
Slezak is beloved by soap fans who watched her play Viki on OLTL for over four decades, during which she won a record six Daytime Emmy Awards for Lead Actress. After ABC canceled the soap in 2012, the actress joined the cast of the short-lived online reboot that aired in 2013. Since then, Slezak has continued to appear in primetime series like THE RESIDENT and BLUE BLOODS.
