Soap Alum Gina Tognoni Has an Inspiring New Project!

Life is full of extraordinary moments, sometimes an experience, coincidence, or an answered prayer that’s seemingly a sign of divine intervention. The phenomenon of those astonishing encounters when God “winks” — aka Godwinks — will be the focus of an inspiring new podcast co-hosted by soap alum Gina Tognoni and her friend, Ashley Crane.

“We have some exciting news!” the duo wrote in a joint Instagram post announcing their new podcast, God Winks With Gina + Ashley. “We sat down with incredible, everyday people and listened to their stories where God moved in their life. We can’t wait to share the uplifting power of their God Winks.”

The first guest on the God Winks podcast is Shannon Lelli, a mother, small business owner, and the author of What Are You Doing? In A World Crumbling. During her chat with Tognoni and Crane, Lelli talked about her personal journey in discovering God.

“Our hope is that this will be a place of transparency and encouragement,” Tognoni and Crane said in their announcement.

Soap fans will remember Tognoni from her runs on One Life To Live, Guiding Light, and The Young & The Restless. The actress made her daytime debut on OLTL in 1995, creating the role of Dorian’s troublemaking niece, Kelly Cramer, and played the character until 2002. She moved across the dial to GL in 2004 as a recast Dinah Marler. Tognoni won two Daytime Emmy Awards in the Supporting Actress category (with three consecutive nominations) before leaving Springfield in 2009. In 2010, she made a year-long return to OLTL, then joined Y&R as Phyllis Newman in 2014. Her work on the soap garnered Tognoni her first Lead Actress nomination in 2015 and her first win in the category in 2017 before she exited in 2019.

God Winks With Gina Tognoni + Ashley Crane is now available on Apple and Spotify.
