THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL

Baby Beth on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL — Everything You Need to Know

Like most soap children, Baby Beth on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL had a traumatic birth and questionable parentage, so let us help clear up any confusion and break it all down for you. The infant is currently being played by Madeline Valdez alternating with River Davison, and is just adorable.

Beth was born to Hope Logan when she went into labor while stuck on the island of Catalina during a storm. Dr. Reese Buckingham delivered the baby but lied to Hope and Liam Spencer that their daughter had died during delivery. But in reality, he had arranged for his ex, Flo Fulton, to pose as the birth mother to arrange for Steffy Forrester to adopt the child in exchange for $250,000 so he could pay off his gambling debts.

Steffy, who had wanted to adopt another little girl so her daughter, Kelly, would have a sibling, named the child Phoebe, after her late twin sister. As Kelly’s father, Liam spent time with both girls and developed a special bond with Phoebe not realizing she was also his biological daughter. Hope also grew especially close to Phoebe, which concerned Steffy.

Flo felt terribly guilty about keeping the baby swap a secret and causing Hope so much pain, but Thomas Forrester threatened her to keep quiet about it so Hope wouldn’t reunite with Liam and he could have her for himself. But his son, Douglas Forrester, overheard this and spilled the truth to Liam, Hope, and Steffy. After it was confirmed by Flo, Hope and Liam were overjoyed to be reunited with their baby girl. Steffy was heartbroken to lose Phoebe, but they promised her that Beth and Kelly were still sisters.

Although Thomas continued to scheme to keep Liam and Hope apart, he was eventually exposed and the couple reunited, giving Beth back both her parents. And as a bonus, Beth has a big brother as they’ve also taken in Douglas! Stay tuned to watch Beth grow up and for more B&B features, keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
