The July 6 episode of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL marked Kiara Barnes’ exit from the soap as Zoe. And to mark her final daytime show, the actress — who is already hard at work on the upcoming Fox FANTASY ISLAND reboot — received a grand send-off from her leading man, Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter).
Taking to Instagram for his public farewell, Saint-Victor shared a selfie of him and Barnes on the B&B set, with the lights and cameras visible in the background. “Big shout-out to my homie, Kiara,” he wrote. “This pic was taken right after the last scene we filmed together. I have to tell you, the challenge of telling a love story, creating chemistry, and building romance [were] extremely difficult during a global pandemic where we had to be eight feet away from each other for most of our story.”
But despite the challenges of working under the strict coronavirus protocols, Saint-Victor said that he was proud of the work that he and Barnes did together. “Knowing we had each other’s backs, and that we can rely on each other, built so much trust and such a fun and creative environment.”
In the couple’s B&B storyline, Zoe unceremoniously slipped out of town after finding out that Carter was cheating on her with Quinn. Rather than confront her fiancé, Zoe just quietly headed off to Paris for a last-minute photo shoot — which makes us hope that this may be a loose end the soap will tie up at a later date. After all, Zoe has always been a bit of a firecracker, and it’s hard to believe that she didn’t have anything to say to Carter or Quinn regarding their affair! Perhaps Barnes can pop back to B&B for a quick visit during a break in FANTASY ISLAND’s production, or maybe the soap will recast the role somewhere down the line for a delicious scorned-lover-seeking-vengeance storyline.
Only time will tell if viewers get to see a heated confrontation between Carter and Zoe. Until then, Saint-Victor’s heartfelt farewell message to Barnes will have to suffice. “It’s bittersweet to see you go,” he concluded, “but I’m beyond proud of you. Kill it on FANTASY ISLAND.”
FANTASY ISLAND — which also stars B&B’s former Xander, Aidan Bradley — debuts on Fox on Tuesday, August 10.
