THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL Pauses Production After One Day Back

Although THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL was the first daytime soap to resume shooting after all four shows suspended production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they have “paused” after only one day on set. B&B resumed taping on June 17 but has halted production to adjust their safety precautions.

“We have paused very briefly to modify our testing protocol to better accommodate the large volume of testing needed,” read a statement Bell-Phillip Television provided to Variety. “Safety remains our top priority as we continue to move forward with the production of the Bold and the Beautiful. B&B filmed with cast and crew today and it was a successful first day back at work.”

Currently, taping is slated to resume on Tuesday, June 23, which could mean that new episodes could begin airing as early as late July. As B&B is the first daytime drama to resume production during the coronavirus pandemic, the other soaps will likely be following its lead regarding the measures they’ve instituted to keep the cast and crew safe and healthy. They are planning to test everyone frequently while having an on-set coordinator to oversee safety, requiring masks for anyone not on camera, and adjusting the number of people on set at any time.

Production of B&B shut down in mid-March along with every other series, and it aired its last remaining new episode on April 23. Since then, the soap has been airing classic episodes to entertain fans while they wait for the new ones to return. Stay tuned for further updates as this story continues to develop.
