Y&R’s Alyvia Alyn Lind Cast in New Chucky Series!

Tags:

Please join us in congratulating Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) on being cast as one of the leads in the new Syfy series CHUCKY! “See you in your nightmares,” the young actress teased on Instagram with a wink.

CHUCKY is a television reboot of the popular Child’s Play film series, from the franchise’s creator and writer, Don Mancini. Jennifer Tilly will be reprising her role as Tiffany Valentine from the movies, and Devon Sawa is also recurring in the series. Joining Lind as a member of the teenage cast are Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, and Björgvin Anarson.

The TV series will revolve around the iconic Chucky doll after it turns up at a suburban garage sale and a small town is thrown into chaos as a series of brutal murders expose dark, long-hidden secrets. The show will also explore Chucky’s untold origin as a child who became a notorious monster. Lind will be playing Lexy Taylor, the self-appointed princess of her school and the primary bully of Jake, played by Arthur. She is also dating his cousin, Junior, played by Briones.

Playing a bully will be a change of pace for Lind, who in her current storyline on Y&R has been playing the victim of school bullies. Lind debuted as Faith Newman back in 2011 and during her career has appeared in recurring roles on REVENGE and TRANSPARENT and in 2018, starred in the Netflix series DAYBREAK. Filming on CHUCKY is scheduled to begin in April in Canada. There has been no word on how this moonlighting might affect Lind’s role on Y&R. While they could just move Faith to the backburner or send her back to boarding school, they could also recast as they did when Mckenna Grace played Faith from 2013-2015.
