Brock on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — Everything You Need to Know

Brock hasn’t been on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS for years, but he was on regularly in the late 70s and continued to recur up until his final appearance in 2013. The character was played by actor Beau Kazer, who sadly passed away in 2014.

Brock Reynolds is the son of Gary Reynolds and Katherine Chancellor. Although a wild child who experimented with sex and drugs, he came home in 1974 a changed man. Now a lawyer, he found his mother in poor health and tried to convince her to seek help for her alcoholism. Katherine pushed him to get involved with Jill Foster to keep her away from Phillip Chancellor, and the pair got married, but Jill was pregnant with Phillip’s child and Brock was torn between Jill and his mother.

In the 90s, Brock was the one who realized that Katherine’s look-alike, Marge Cotroke, had taken her place and was trying to steal her fortune. Kay befriended a teenager at a homeless shelter named Mackenzie Browning, and she turned out to be Brock’s daughter with Amanda Browning. Mac had been told her father had died on a mission in India, so she was floored to come face to face with him. Brock forged a close bond with his daughter and moved in with Katherine for a while before leaving to work in India again. He did continue to pop back in to Genoa City from time to time, like when he was heavily involved in the intervention where everyone tried to get Katherine to stop drinking.

Brock later relocated to New Orleans to help with the cleanup from Hurricane Katrina. In 2008, he came home to deliver Katherine’s eulogy at her funeral and learned of his inheritance putting him in charge of the Chancellor Foundation. Later it was revealed that it had been Marge who had died and Brock returned in 2009 to help with the DNA tests to confirm Katherine’s true identity and even officiated her marriage to Patrick Murphy. He was also involved in the tests when Tucker McCall claimed to be Katherine’s son. Brock also supported Mac when she chose to carry Lily and Cane Ashby’s twins as a surrogate. In 2010, he officiated at Mac and J.T. Hellstrom’s wedding and in 2013, returned for Katherine’s funeral, which was the last time Brock was seen on air.
