Brytni Sarpy Opens up About Working With Real-Life Love Bryton James

When it comes to playing Elena and Devon’s scenes on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, her portrayer, Brytni Sarpy, says that she and TV-beau Bryton James (Devon) approach the work in the same way. “We are both pretty serious,” she admitted to Soaps In Depth. “We are not the kind of people who don’t know their lines or joke around too much on set when we’re on camera.”

And as far as critiquing each other’s performances, Sarpy appreciates James’ honesty — and vice versa. “I worry that I am strongly opinionated,” she confided, “so I tread the line where I don’t want to offend anyone and make them feel that I know their job better than they do, or I would have read something a different way. Bryton is really good, though. When I can’t close my mouth about something, he is really receptive to what I’m saying. There’s a level of respect that we have for each other, and when something is said, we know the intent is not from a place of ego but to make the scene great!”
