Callie on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — Everything You Need to Know

Fans may remember major characters well, but it’s the minor ones who are easily forgotten, like Callie on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. Originally portrayed by Michelle Thomas starting in July 1998, by the fall the actress had to go on medical leave and she sadly passed away in December of that year. The role was recast with Siena Goines, who continued to play Callie until 2000. 

Callie Rogers was an aspiring singer and ex-girlfriend of Malcolm Winters who surprised him by walking back into his life in Genoa City. She had good timing, as his marriage to Olivia Winters had just fallen apart, but they had a hard time rekindling their relationship as she had a dominating husband, Trey Stark. He was also her manager for singing gigs and controlled her every move. Malcolm offered to step aside so she could work on her marriage, but Callie clearly didn’t want to stay with Trey.

Finally, Callie broke up with Trey just as Malcolm’s divorce from Olivia was finalized, and they were able to resume their relationship and even got engaged. Unfortunately, Malcolm discovered that Callie was still legally married to Trey and pressured her to get a divorce. Trey refused to let her go and Callie’s indecisiveness frustrated Malcolm. After Malcolm split up with her, Callie eventually left Genoa City for good.
