Christian LeBlanc Shares a Hurricane Ida Update From New Orleans

Hurricane Ida ripped through the Gulf Coast and left the area damaged and without power, but THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Christian LeBlanc (Michael) — who was in his New Orleans home for the devastating storm — shared an update on social media to let his fans known that he got through it safely. “Ida hits the neighborhood!” he posted on Aug. 30 with a series of photos featuring flooded streets, downed branches, torrential rain, and powerful winds.

Fans and fellow soap stars urged LeBlanc to stay safe, especially when he shared a video that had many of them very concerned for his well-being! With power outages everywhere, the actor went out to his car to keep his cell phone charged up and shared a clip of the storm hitting hard around him. “Meanwhile, while charging the phone in the car in the middle of a hurricane,” he wrote, trying to lighten the mood.

“How many times do we have to tell you and Al Roker to get inside and shelter!” commented Y&R alum Jessica Collins (ex-Avery). Ashley Jones (ex-Bridget, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) was also concerned. “Oh dear,” she wrote, “Me oh my. Please, oh please just go inside.”

Thankfully, the following day, LeBlanc shared more photos on his Instagram to show that he came through it just fine, as did the family pets. “Sally in the debris!” he captioned a shot of one of his pets standing among some downed greenery. “Lookin’ up!”

We’re glad to hear that LeBlanc and his family made it through the worst of the storm, but unfortunately, over a million people in Louisiana are currently without power and officials are saying electricity may not be restored to some areas for a month. Which could prove life-threatening for some as a dangerous heat wave follows in Ida’s wake. As the citizens collect themselves and rebuild their lives, LeBlanc shared a link to the official Red Cross website for any fans who would like to donate to help their life-saving efforts in the areas hit hardest by the hurricane.
